Run by qualified and enthusiastic coaches, our football sessions take place throughout Newham and cater for children through to adults. Whether you want to play competitively or just enjoy a kick about, we have a football session for you.

KIDS

Toddlers (3 to 4 year olds)

Football is an ideal way to develop your child’s confidence, coordination and sense of team spirit.  Led by qualified coaches, these safe and fun sessions are designed to improve your child’s spatial awareness, basic motor skills, coordination and control as well as their ability to aim, predict and estimate.  The emphasis is on having fun and children are allowed to develop at their own pace.

Juniors (5 to 7 year olds)

These sessions for five to seven year olds are designed to give children as much enjoyment from the sport as possible. The classes are led by qualified coaches and focus on developing children’s core skills allowing them to progress at their own pace. All sessions include a warm up, the main activity, match-related games and a warm down.

Academy (8 to 11 year olds)

Children benefit from playing football in so many ways. Not only does it keep them active, but playing football regularly helps build their self-confidence and develop their social skills. Our academy sessions are delivered by enthusiastic and qualified coaches who teach children all of the key football skills while keeping the game fun.

Mini-Soccer (8 to 11 year olds)

We run mini-soccer sessions for eight to 11 year olds throughout Newham. Played on a smaller pitch with fewer players, mini-soccer is ideal for introducing youngsters to the sport.

Neighbourhood Sports Programme (8 to 11 year olds)

We offer free football sessions in parks and multi-use games areas throughout Newham all year long. These friendly sessions are open to children from the ages of eight to 11 of any standard and are led by qualified coaches.

YOUTH

Neighbourhood Sports Programme (12 to 19 year olds)

Our Neighbourhood Sports Programme is open to all young people aged from 12 to 19. Running all year round in our parks and multi-use games areas, these fun football sessions are free to attend and include leagues and tournaments. All sessions are delivered by national governing body-qualified coaches and are open to youngsters of all abilities. In addition to football, these free sessions are available in your local area for a range of sports including athletics, basketball, cricket, handball, hockey, rugby, non-contact boxing, tennis, volleyball, ultimate Frisbee and many more.

Junior Clubs

We have a network of approximately 40 youth teams allowing boys and girls aged seven to 18 to play football competitively, from mini-soccer for youngsters aged six to nine progressing to the full game for older children.

Adult Clubs

There are a host of opportunities for you to play football throughout Newham. With 50 adult male teams (for those aged 16 and above), two adult female teams and four teams for players over the age of 35, there’s a club near you. The teams play in football leagues in and around London.

Leyton Orient is a professional football club playing in League One, the third tier of professional football in England. Known to their fans as the O’s, Leyton Orient's home ground is Brisbane Road; officially known as the Matchroom Stadium after club chairman Barry Hearn's sports promotion company.

West Ham United FC

West Ham United is a professional football club based in the Olympic Park, Newham and currently plays in the Premier League, England's top tier of football. The club was founded in 1895 as Thames Ironworks FC and reformed in 1900 as West Ham United. In 1904 the club relocated to the Boleyn Ground stadium until 2016 where West Ham moved into the Olympic Stadium on a 99-year commercial lease.
